If you test within three months of a possible exposure and the result is non-reactive, test again after three months and consider a further test at six months.

A line appearing in the control position confirms the test ran correctly. A control line on its own is a non-reactive result. A control line plus a second line in the test position is a reactive result, and any visible second line counts, however faint.
